Ever wondered what it is like to cruise on a superliner, where you can learn to swing on a trapeze in a contemporary circus school, enjoy ever-changing views from one of 881 balcony cabins, play on a giant 14.5 metre Scalextric track, or be fed mouth-watering food from Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White in a unique fine dining venue? Now, with the launch of P&O Cruises superliner Ventura, you can!
Ventura, the largest cruise ship ever built for Britain, will be sailing into her home port of Southampton for the very first time on 6 April, to begin her inaugural celebrations.
Fresh from the Monfalcone Shipyard in Fincantieri, Italy, Ventura will arrive at the Mayflower Cruise Terminal at approximately 11:00am to a traditional fireboat welcome. Ventura’s official naming ceremony will take place on 16 April, when she will be christened by her esteemed godmother Dame Helen Mirren, with help from the Royal Marines. You will be able to watch this prestigious event on the P&O Cruises website, so please check back for details nearer the time.
On 18 April, after her sailaway festivities, Ventura will set sail on her Maiden Cruise for the magnificent sites of the Mediterranean. Please note there will be no public access to the dockside, but you will be able to get a good view of Ventura from Mayflower Park and Town Quay.
