Hosted by India tour specialist TransIndus, a free event tomorrow in London promises to be one of a kind for those interested in India's rich and fascinating history and art.
The highly acclaimed author, TV presenter, historian and India expert Michael Wood will embark on a dazzling and exciting expedition through today's India, looking to the present for clues to her past, and to the past for clues to her future, as part of a landmark series of lectures. The 'Art and Grandeur of the Chola Dynasty' lecture will take place on Wednesday 30 July at 6pm at The Nehru Centre, London.
Michael Wood will take the audience through India's majestic landscapes, revealing some of the greatest monuments and artistic treasures on Earth. From Buddhism to Bollywood, from mathematics to outsourcing, he discovers India's impact on history.
This first lecture of the series offers you an insight into Michael's journey of more than a thousand miles, through the temples and holy shrines of Southern India and explores the art of the Chola dynasty.
With wine and nibbles afterwards, it is the place to be for any India buff or anyone who might be considering a cultural or historical tour of the country.
