I travelled to Tasmania earlier this
year and discovered that while it was a fabulous and not to be missed
experience (stroke a Tassie Devil while you can!), ultra-luxury is
generally not its bag.
Do not get me wrong, here are some beautiful and extremely unusual hotels (and one I would particularly recommend for a very luxurious and special time is the Woodbridge on the Derwent – just marvellous with a very intimate appeal), but the Tasmanian holiday is much more about the wilderness experience, the wildlife and the stunning scenery (and believe it or not, the wine and fizz), rather than the 'luxury experience'.
So, it was interesting to find out that a new ultra-deluxe 'rejuvenating coastal sanctuary' called Saffire is soon to be added to Tasmania's portfolio of luxury experiences and accommodations, located at Coles Bay on the outstandingly breathtaking Freycinet Peninsula.
