Private tours are the best choice if you prefer more flexibility or independence on your holiday, but you still want someone else to do a lot of the organising and planning of your itinerary - as well as enjoying the extra personal touch of being the sole focus of the guides and drivers who will accompany you.
With private tours, you get to travel around an arranged schedule but you’ll do this at more of your own pace, and travel may be through a private-chauffeured car or, depending on the tour and operator, sometimes done independently with a car or transport arranged by the tour operator.
You will usually meet with local guides in your destination, rather than one guide who accompanies the whole trip, to allow you to get the most from excursions and make sure you don’t miss anything. Private tours can feel very special as they are only for you, and it means you can have the undivided attention of your guide.
